Contemporary Design Practice

The Centre for Contemporary Design Practice (CCDP) is engaged in research which is grounded in traditional theory and practice, but which responds to the need to re-invent the design professions in the light of contemporary society and technological advances, and to develop the design practices of the future. The research of the CCDP is both discipline-specific and multidisciplinary, and centred on six nodes: multimodality; design practice; digital content and information design; creativity and cognition; history and theory of design; architecture and information design; and knowledge management.
