Health Economics Research and Evaluation

The Centre for Health Economics Research and Evaluation (CHERE) is arguably the foremost health economics centre in Australia. CHERE's research contributes to health policy evaluation and debate, the understanding of how health services impact on health outcomes, the efficiency of resource allocation and the welfare of individuals and society. The centre conducts research across three levels of care: the health system level; the level of specific health care programs; and at the clinical level. Topics include: public and private health insurance and the use of health services; investigation of consumer preferences and evaluation of health care programs and policies; measurement and evaluation of health-related quality of life; and the health workforce.
