Student research opportunities
Health Services and Practice seeks students interested in addressing the following focus areas:
- conducting research to improve the quality of practice, services and systems
- developing and evaluating practice development initiatives in nursing, midwifery and child health; and health services that are based on evidence and best practice
- working with, and influencing, policy makers in the provision of nursing, midwifery and health care
- participating with educational providers to improve the preparation of, and professional development for, nurses midwives and health service managers
- investigating system-level reform of health service provision.
We offer research degrees at all levels:
- Bachelor (Honours) in Midwifery or Nursing
- Master (Honours) in Health Services, Midwifery or Nursing
- Professional Doctorate in Health Services, Midwifery or Nursing
- Doctor of Philosophy
Research Program (Seminars)
Research degree students are supported by a vibrant research culture with regular events involving staff and students, including Faculty Research Weeks in July and December, monthly Research Cafe seminars, and Centre or discipline-based research group meetings. All of our degrees except the PhD include coursework to support our students’ research development.
