Industry engagement

Fostering links with industry and other organisations is important to UTS. The Industry Engagement and Commercialisation team (IEC) is responsible for fostering those links between UTS and industry.

The IEC staff have experience in both the public and private sectors and therefore have a strong understanding of the needs of industry.  Through research partnerships, UTS seeks to offer industry relevant research, access to a wide range of the university's facilities, assets (including intellectual property), and the skills, expertise and innovative capacity of UTS' talented researchers.

Partnership options include contract research, collaborative research, commercialisation of UTS intellectual property and access to UTS and external grants schemes.

UTS has a can.do attitude and works with partners to establish a productive relationship that achieves specified outcomes. When engaging with UTS you can expect a transparent process, with fair and reasonable terms negotiated for both parties, undertaken in a timely and efficient manner.

Commercialisation

UTS is one of Australia's leading universities of technology.  The University leverages its strong links with industries and strong tradition of applied research to address industry needs.  The IEC encourages effective technology through licensing and start-up pathways to provide benefits to the industry and public.

UniQuest Pty. Ltd. is UTS' commercial partner and is responsible for the commercialisation, marketing and licensing of UTS intellectual property worldwide.
